The Prairie Family Business Association (PFBA) is a premier leader in promoting and advocating for family business in South Dakota and the Midwest. PFBA is a key outreach center of the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business (BSB), focusing on serving family businesses and their advisors (http://fambus.org). Its mission is to “build relationships and offer high-quality educational programs that promote successful businesses and healthy families.”

The BSB and PFBA seek a forward looking, dynamic leader to lead the PFBA as executive director. The Executive Director serves as the chief operating officer and is a source of advocacy for family business, ensures association financial stability, and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic programming. The Executive Director is also responsible for developing and expanding collaborations and relations with other business associations.

The PBFA has experienced significant growth and program expansion in the past two years. We are seeking the ideal candidate with a leadership track record to continue the growth trajectory.

Required: The Executive Director will have a related undergraduate degree (masters preferred) and experience with family business. The Executive Director must have strong administrative management experience, leadership qualities, communication skills, project management skills, ability to operate in a digital environment, and organization financial experience.

Preferred Qualifications: The best applicant will have leadership experience in fund raising, program development and delivery, leadership development, and teaching experience. The successful candidate must be able to work with an Advisory Board and Beacom School of Business faculty, staff, and administrators. Salary will be competitive and includes benefits.
