Position: Northern State University invites applications for a 12-month, CSA position as an instructional designer for Northern State University and the Center for Statewide E-learning end users.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for successful applicants include:
• a bachelor’s degree in a discipline of education, education technology, instructional technologies, or related field;
• demonstrated technical proficiency of learning management systems used in higher education and K-12 school systems;
• exhibited experience in adult education training, implementing professional development programs or consulting and
• working knowledge of course design methodologies, assessments, learning objective alignment and measurement strategies.
The position will work both independently and as part of the NSU NET Services and Center for Statewide E-learning teams. Position is located on campus.
Responsibilities: Essential responsibilities of this position include
1) Knowledge of online course delivery best practices, online course design, and training of adult learners.
2) Support the facilitation of the quality assurance program for online courses to ensure courses meet University/BOR system standards of quality for online learning and course design.
3) Collaborate with faculty and instructional design personnel for rigorous and relevant course design.
4) Assist faculty preparation for quality assurance reviews of online courses.
5) Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and work closely with online instructors to meet instructional design needs.
6) Monitor and review technology trends and make integration, implementation, and/or purchase recommendations.
7) Effectively use technology and best practices for instructional design pedagogy/andragogy to develop and deliver faculty training in the use and implementation of instructional technologies and software applications.
8) Provide secondary support for the learning management system.
9) Fulfill other duties as assigned by Director of Instructional Design.
