Black Hills State University is seeking instructor faculty to teach courses in the Fine Arts discipline. Courses will include foundational courses in studio art as well as art history.

Teach 5 courses per semester in the fine arts discipline.

*Knowledge of art history, art processes, and concepts relevant to foundations level studio art courses and art history survey courses.
*Ability to effectively teach college-level foundations courses, with a commitment to providing excellence in education, including the ability to present course teachings in such a way that students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to increase motivation, and to develop a positive self-image.
*Working knowledge and skill in presentation software (Adobe Suite Applications, PowerPoint or Keynote presentation software, Web 2.0 Applications, Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred).
*Candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student populations.
*Possess good organizational and planning skills.
*Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment.
*Self-disciplined and able to effectively manage others.

*Master of Fine Arts in a Studio Art.
*Terminal degree in related discipline, or exceptional level of professional expertise in the discipline.
*Terminal Degree in related discipline.
*University level teaching experience in related discipline.
*One year or more of college level teaching experience preferred. Classroom instruction as a TA is applicable.
*Experience teaching a very diverse student body, as well as, a variety of courses is preferred.
