Black Hills State University seeks applicants for an Admissions Counselor.

Supporting the enrollment goals of BHSU, and reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, this position assists with all aspects of the admissions and recruitment processes.

*Manage a designated recruitment territory which includes extensive travel and on-going communication with prospective students, parents and guidance counselors
*Assist with organizing on and off campus recruitment events
*Represent Black Hills State University at college fairs, high school visits, conferences, and outreach events on a local, regional, and national level
*Maintain knowledge of all BHSU academic programs, requirements, and student services.
*Developing and maintaining close working relationships with key secondary and postsecondary school constituents
*Participating in the ongoing recruitment outreach including tele-counseling initiatives, email campaigns, and other recruitment/social media tools and communication methods
*Other duties as assigned

*Strong communication skills (strong writing skills, public speaking, interpersonal and public
relations skills) are a must

*Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures
*Ability to maintain schedules

*Bachelor’s degree
*Valid driver’s license
*Ability to travel, load and transport publications and supplies
*Evening and weekend hours required
*Basic computer skills

Black Hills State University is a masters-level state University with 4,500 students.
