Dakota State University is seeking a dynamic health information management faculty member for a 9-month faculty position beginning Fall 2018. The College of Business and Information Systems offers CAHIIM-accredited B.S. and A.S. Health Information Management degrees, a coding certificate, a Health Information clerk certificate, a minor in Health Information Management, a graduate degree in health informatics and information management, and health information systems specializations at the master’s and doctoral levels.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in health information management, information systems, business, health informatics or related field plus certification as an RHIA and active membership in AHIMA. Applicants must have at least 4 years of experience in the health information management field, excellent computer knowledge and knowledge of health information management applications. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching or training, particularly in an online format.

Responsibilities include teaching face-to-face and online (Internet), advising, scholarly activity and service to the college and university, including active participation in the program’s advisory committee and development, implementation and evaluation of the program. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Supplemental contracts for grant-funded research and/or teaching may also be available.
