| Posting Text | The Department of Psychology at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track instructor/lecturer position in Psychology beginning in the Fall of 2021. This position will deliver undergraduate coursework in psychology, including Introductory Psychology, Research Methods, Statistics, and Applied Psychology (a course covering the various professions pursued by psychology majors). Other courses within the candidate’s area of expertise will be considered. Instruction will be primarily on-campus and face-to-face but online sections may be assigned as needed. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be involved in advising undergraduate psychology majors. Candidates should be prepared to teach a variety of courses and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence. Normal instructional load will be 4 courses per semester and the candidate is expected to be familiar with research but is not expected to conduct research or publish in this position. Candidates with a Master’s degree in any area of psychology plus teaching experience will be considered for the instructor level, and a doctorate is required to be hired at the lecturer level. The Department of Psychology at USD has over 275 undergraduate majors in psychology and a growing undergraduate program in neuroscience. In addition, the department is home to two doctoral training programs; an APA accredited clinical training program and training program in Human Factors and Ergonomics. Graduate teaching is possible for qualified candidates. The University of South Dakota is a regional public institution with a rich history and tradition of instructional excellence.
