| Posting Text | Four, primarily teaching focused, tenure-track positions are available in the Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences, a division of Dakota State University, Madison, SD. The open rank positions are in the general field of Computer Science, cyber security or closely related field with several sub-disciplines available for these positions. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate and/or graduate computer science or cyber security courses. Candidates should have a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, cyber security, or related field by start date. We are interested in applicants who have taught or developed courses or have a good publication record or potential to publish in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, malware analysis, robotics, algorithm design, programming, computer architecture, or cloud computing, modern cryptography, digital forensics, electronic crime, blockchain, hardware security, human factors and anomaly detection, network forensics, mobile forensics, database forensics, device forensics, electronic discovery, cybersecurity, biometrics, wireless network security, information security, cyber ethics, data privacy, intrusion detection and protection or closely related areas. The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences received its current name in August of 2017 coinciding with The DSU RISING! gift. This gift created a $40 million engine to bolster DSU’s Cybersecurity education and research programs. In recognition of this gift, the Board of Regents approved renaming the Dakota State University College of Computing to The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences. The college currently enrolls over 1,300 students majoring in associate and baccalaureate majors (Computer Science, Computer Game Design, Cyber Operations, and Network & Security Administration). The college has an enrollment of more than 200 graduate students in master’s degrees (Computer Science and Cyber Defense), and PhD programs (Cyber Operations, Cyber Defense, and Computer Science). These programs are delivered on-campus and through a robust program of online education. Dakota State University and The Beacom College have a special focus on the development, application, implications, and impacts of computing, information technologies and cyber security in all areas of human endeavor. DSU has received multiple Center of Excellence designations in education, research and regional resource development from the U.S. National Security Agency and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. DSU is also home to the Madison Cyber Labs (MadLabs), a cyber Research & Development hub with labs and institutes that explore and advance technology application, workforce development, business expansion, economic growth, and policy improvement across multiple disciplines and fields.
