South Dakota State University (SDSU) Student Affairs is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Coordinator for Communications & Outreach. We are looking for an energetic, creative, and innovative professional to join us in Summer of 2021. This is a 12 month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised the Wellness Center Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Communications and Outreach Coordinator will develop, lead, and maintain strategic marketing and communications within Student Affairs with a primary focus for Recreation and Fitness, Housing and Residential Life, and Student Health Clinic and Counseling. The Coordinator will also provide support for the other departments within Student Affairs: Office of Multicultural Affairs, TRIO, American Indian Student Center, Veterans Affairs, New Student Orientation, Financial Aid and Vice President of Student Affairs Office. They will be responsible for developing marketing/communications plans, managing advertising and production of promotional items, discussing projects with campus colleagues and community partners, creating, and revising marketing materials, leveraging social media resources and tools, implementing web and email marketing strategies, and supervising student hourly employee(s)/intern(s). 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field such as Journalism, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design completed by start date. 
• Minimum two (2) years of professional experience (2 year Graduate Assistantship equals 1 year professional experience) with some combination of: marketing campaign design/implementation, web production, social media strategy, digital marketing, account management, or similar role. 
• Proficient knowledge and experience with multimedia software, such as Adobe Creative Suite. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and work as a contributing team member. 
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills by managing competing projects with the ability to prioritize. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated experience administering social media technology and SEO to optimize content – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs, web, etc. 
• Experience with digital measurement tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, YouTube Insights, Hootsuite, and/or other related tools/online services. 
• Experience with coordinating programs, following direction, and prioritizing projects; and working with, interpreting, and presenting data findings. 
• Ability to work autonomously. 
• Working knowledge of web usability practices, content strategy, and content management methods and systems, such as content accessibility guidelines. 
• Experience supervising staff.
