USD Head Start is seeking a teacher for children ages 3-5 for an Afternoon Classroom of 8 children in Vermillion, SD. This is a temporary, 1 year position that runs through May 31st. Hours are 11:45 to 4:00 Monday – Wednesday and 10:45 to 4:00 on Thursday. Applicants must have BA/BS degree in early childhood education; elementary or special education with early childhood endorsement. Experience working with young preschool-age children is preferred. SD Teacher licensure, or ability to be licensed in SD as a teacher preferred. Bi-lingual and multi-lingual applicants encouraged to apply. This position is eligible for annual leave, sick leave and paid state holidays. Position will teach a class size of 8 children. |

USD Head Start provides free education, health and development services to families with young children. A federally funded program, we work with families to recognize their unique characteristics, cultural values and strengths, and offer services like: - Individualized learning - Vision, hearing and developmental screenings - Nutritious meals and snacks - Health services - Parent education - Community resource information We offer services in Clay, Lincoln, Turner and Union counties. These services are available in-home or at one of our local centers and some are offered on a full-day, year-round basis. |
