South Dakota State University Student Health Clinic and Counseling Services is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Clinic Operations Manager. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join us in the Student Health Clinic and Counseling Services.  This is a 12 month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Director of Student Health and Counseling.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leadership and Supervision;
  • Onboarding and orientation for new staff regarding general operations;
  • Serves as the primary administrator responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient daily operations of SHCCS;
  • Primary administrator for the electronic health records program;
  • Oversight billing (managed care, insurance, and self-pay);
  • Purchasing for the department;
  • Marketing;
  • Compliance;
  • Implements and maintains policy and procedure manuals for SHCCS HIPAA and HiTech Security;
  • Point of contact for Release of Medical Records;
  • Serves as HIPAA Security Officer.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health, or a closely related field completed by first day of employment;
  • At least one year of management experience required; 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills; 
  • Knowledge required of  ICD-10 and CPT coding and how it affects third party payor.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two years medical office experience;
  • Previous medical billing experience in managed care setting.
