SDSU Finance and Business is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Director of Grants and Contracts. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join us in Finance and Business. This is a 12 month, full-time, benefit eligible position. This position will be supervised by the Vice President for Finance and Business. SDSU is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings that address the experiences of underrepresented minorities in organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership, management, and staff development to assure post award financial compliance to sponsors and financial compliance of proposal budgets. Ensure financial compliance of awards according to sponsor guidelines and University requirements. Develop University policies and procedures for grant administration and management systems. Provide effective and timely leadership of information interpretation and responsed to financial research administration issues and questions to Grants and Contracts Administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related field completed by first day of employment;
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and general funding and agency rules and regulations. Extensive knowledge of Federal Uniform Guidance;
• Five years of supervisory experience;
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work as a contributing team member;
• Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs;
• Demonstrated ability or potential to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and direct effective programs;
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous higher education grant management experience;
• Ability to attain Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) certificate.
