Position: This position is a renewable, 10-month laboratory manager position in the Biology Department at Northern State University. The position will be primarily under the direction of the Chair of the Science and Math Department, and secondarily under the direction of the Dean of Arts and Sciences. The lab manager will have student assistants available through work-study positions.

Qualifications: A BS in Biology or related fields from an accredited institution and a basic knowledge of Chemistry. Candidates must also possess excellent organizational skills, be detailed-orientated, be able to work independently, and be able to work with both students and faculty.

Responsibilities: Ordering and preparing lab materials for all introductory biology and chemistry labs, (both non-majors and majors) along with any or all upper-level courses as requested by faculty; keeping all labs and prep areas clean and stocked with necessary supplies; maintaining inventory of all common lab chemicals and supplies; becoming familiar with the functions of all common lab equipment and how to maintain equipment as needed; and overseeing work-study students and lab assistants. The position will also be heavily involved in moving lab materials and equipment to the newly constructed Science building, along with organization and setup of said materials in the appropriate areas.
