The USD Communication Sciences and Disorders department is seeking a secretary for the Sioux Falls Scottish Rite Children’s Clinic.

This is a half-time position with benefits in a rich environment that provides speech and language intervention for children and their families. This position is grant-funded. Continuation of the position is dependent on grant funding.

The duties include: greet visitors, answer phones; answer and/or route inquiries; route mail; schedule appointments; compose, review and finalize correspondence, forms, and reports to ensure accuracy; maintain accurate records of fiscal activities to track expenditures; perform data entry for analysis of program activities; establish and maintain computerized and manual filing systems; perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:
- modern office procedures and equipment;
- computer hardware and software capabilities;
- business English, to include spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Necessary skills include the ability to:
- use computers for word processing and data entry;
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse people and provide quality customer service;
- maintain accurate financial records and schedule appointments;
- analyze and organize information;
- make decisions on the best course of action in various circumstances;
- manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines;
- communicate effectively, in English, in oral and written forms;
- answer telephone and greet visitors;
- maintain confidentiality.
