Full-time, nine month, tenure track position. Teach undergraduate and graduate studio cello and serve as a member of the Rawlins Piano Trio (http://www.rawlinstrio.com). The Rawlins Piano Trio has achieved a national reputation for performing a variety of styles of music, including outstanding performances of music by American composers. The groups tours nationally and internationally. Other duties may include: teaching string methods, working with the chamber orchestra, teaching other music courses as needed within the Music Department, serving on graduate committees, supervising independent study projects as appropriate to appointee’s qualifications, and additional assignments to meet departmental needs. All faculty members are expected to assist in recruitment and to be active in research, performance, or creative scholarship. Excellence in teaching is expected — both in the classroom and in mentoring students outside the classroom. As part of a normal workload you may be asked to teach online courses. Participation in Inclusive Excellence by undertaking outreach to diverse communities (multicultural student organizations, Native American community, GLBTIQ community, Latino community, veterans, women, etc.) on and off campus is encouraged. Appointment begins August 22, 2018.

DMA in performance (cello) or the equivalent is required. ABD will be considered. Knowledge and experience in the performance of piano trio standard repertoire is required.

Music Performance, and Musical Arts. Master of Music degrees are offered in Music Education, Music Performance, Conducting, Collaborative Piano, Music History, and the History of Musical Instruments.
