The Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a Lecturer in Sociology (nine-month, renewable) to begin August 20, 2018.

The candidate will be expected to teach Introduction to Sociology each academic year and will have the opportunity to teach other courses in his/her areas of interest. Teaching online courses may be required.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in sociology is required. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach Race and Ethnic Minorities, Social Stratification, and/or History of Sociology.

Housed in USD’s College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Anthropology and Sociology offers the BA and BS degrees in Anthropology and Sociology, as well as minors in Anthropology, Sociology, Archaeology, and Geography. Its courses support the General Education curriculum of the University, as well as such programs as Health Sciences, Medical Biology, and Native American Studies.
