The Black Hills Natural Sciences Field Station (BHNSFS) at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology is seeking temporary Instructor(s), Lecturer(s) or Senior Lecturer(s) for three and five-week summer/winter sessions of Geology and Geological Engineering field camps, and/or other specialty camps as needed. The camps are taught from the Ranch A facility in the northern Black Hills, south of Beulah, Wyoming, in various locations in the Black Hills, and possibly other locations within the U.S. or abroad. For more information on camps and locations visit It is expected that the selected candidate live at the camp during the session. Possibility of an ongoing position, dependent upon performance, funding and student enrollment. A PhD in Geology, Geological Engineering or a related field is required; experience teaching geology and/or engineering field camps is preferred. Those close to completion of their PhD in Geology or a related field and experience in teaching geology field camps may be considered.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These are temporary non-benefited positions.
