Black Hills State University invites applications for an Admissions Assistant in the Office of Admissions.

This position will establish, update and maintain accurate information for undergraduate applicants and will provide clerical duties required to support the activities of the Office of Admissions.

•Maintain and update accurate paper and electronic records of prospects and applicants.
•Manage application process through the utilization of reports, the student system and the Document Imaging System. Research, review and update incomplete applicant records. Prepare and send emails and letters notifying applicants of missing information and admission decisions.
•Determine admission eligibility and residency.
•Manage application withdrawal requests and update files accordingly.
•Assist in office practices including answering the telephone, greeting visitors and providing support during special campus events.
•Hire, train and supervise student employees.
•Relay information and answer questions within scope of knowledge and authority.
•All other duties as assigned.

•1-3 years of experience working in a fast paced office setting
•Experience with managing workflow processes and balancing multiple tasks simultaneously
•Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Word and Excel
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
•Ability to make decisions independently and to determine when consultation with supervisor is required
•Modern office etiquette, procedures and practices
•Modern office equipment and processes
•Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public

Typical office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.
