The Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Dakota’s Sanford School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants must have a terminal degree (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) in a relevant area and at least two years of post-doctoral experience. Candidates with innovative research programs in microbiology, immunology, virology, or the microbiome are invited to apply (see http://www.usd.edu/medicine/basic-biomedical-sciences/faculty-and-staff for a complete list of faculty within the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences). Successful candidates will be expected to develop independent, externally funded research, participate in teaching graduate or medical students, and provide service to the Division, School of Medicine and University of South Dakota. Excellent start-up funds, state-funded salary commensurate with experience and state-of-the-art research facilities in the Lee Medical Science Building (Vermillion, SD) will be provided. To apply, submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of past research and teaching experience (including experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds), a statement of research interests and future plans, teaching interests, and the names of three references.
