The College of Nursing is seeking an experienced Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to fill a full-time, nine-month position as Instructor to be located at our Sioux Falls, SD site. This position will be 100% during the academic year with up to 40% of their workload assignment dedicated to practice time at Falls Community Health in Sioux Falls, SD. This position will also receive summer supplemental for up to 40% time divided between practice and teaching. This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team. As part of practice, this position will be expected to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a broad array of mental health issues, maintain their own panel of patients, meet productivity standards, and work closely with the primary care provider to deliver patient-centered, integrated medical care.

• Bachelor’s and graduate degrees in Nursing by date of application;
• Nationally Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner;
• 1-2 years of relevant clinical practice experience;
• Application indicates evidence of effective written communication skills;
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Doctoral preparation in Nursing or related discipline;
• 5 or more years of relevant clinical practice experience;
• Degree education from more than one degree-granting institution;
• Formal teaching experience in nursing;
• Evidence of professional service.
