The University of South Dakota is seeking a dynamic, goal oriented individual to join the Student Services team as Coordinator of Spirit teams and family programming. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Student Services/Dean of Students.

The Coordinator of Spirit teams and Parent programming is expected to carry out spirit team programming for students and family programming on USD’s campus. The successful candidate will plan and develop programs that will appeal broadly to all students, including programming targeted to enhance participation of specific groups such as first-year students, under-represented populations, commuter students, graduating seniors.

The Coordinator of Spirit teams and Parent programming will manage a programming budget and proactively manage the Student Services family events. This position supervises student staff and volunteers.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Personnel, counseling or related field and experience is preferred. One or more years of related professional experience is required. Student leadership development, spirit team advisement, and budget management experience are highly preferred. Management and supervisory experience are highly desirable. The successful candidate will have a team building, problem-solving decision making, and program evaluation skills, demonstrated leadership abilities and well-developed communication skills.

Ability to work irregular hours is required.
Valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one, is required.
