The Simulation and Learning Lab Technician for the College of Nursing will provide the support necessary within the learning lab and simulation environment to meet the mission of the college and meet accreditation standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four year college degree by date of application in Nursing, Computer Science, Information Technology or health-related field preferred, however candidates with at least 8 years of directly related comparable health field experience without a four year degree will be considered.
• Proficiency in digital audio-visual equipment use, editing, and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Effective written communication skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous knowledge and work with simulation delivery.

Department Description and Cultural Expectations

SDSU is a land grant university and the state’s largest institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 13,000 students. Rapid City is the state’s second largest city (with an urban population of 68,886 and metropolitan population of 126,382) and is nestled at the foot of the beautiful Black Hills. Mount Rushmore, the Badlands National Park and Crazy Horse Memorial are all within an hour of the SDSU Nursing Department.
