Black Hills State University seeks applicants for an Assistant Director position for the Center for American Indian Studies.

DUTIES:
*Assist in fulfilling the mission for the Center for American Indian Studies, to act as an academic advisor, and provide strategic direction for retention efforts of American Indian students.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
*Have an understanding of institutional admissions policies and procedures; grant writing methods; management and marketing techniques as well as the institution’s programs, policies, and procedures.
*Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
*Communicate information concisely and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
*Plan and project future operating needs in terms of fiscal needs and staffing changes.
*Interpret objectives and develop practical applications.
*Carry boxes of supplies and recruitment materials.
*Assist with the set up and tear down of PowWow and summer bridge.
*Have regular and reliable work attendance.
*Act professionally with co-workers and students.

REQUIREMENTS:
*Four-year college degree required, master preferred.
*1-3 years’ experience required.

Black Hills State University is a masters-level state University with 4,500 students.
