LOCATION: Information Technology Services

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $17.23 – $25.87, dependent upon education and experience, GI

POSITION PURPOSE: Provide administrative software support and serve as the campus Blackboard administrator. Duties include training and assisting administrative staff on new and existing software packages; coordinating support within department; management of the Blackboard software, including maintaining campus door access, meal plans, online accounts, reports, and system testing; serving as administrative technical representative and project manager for administrative software projects with other state-wide universities; research current and new hardware and software; and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:
•tools and technologies available to meet information system requirements;
•principles, theories and concepts of computer science;
•operating characteristics of the environments of assigned information systems.

Ability to:
•communicate effectively in both oral and written form with technical and non-technical clients and translate their needs, ideas, or suggestions into logical solutions, exercising tact, patience, discretion and professional demeanor;
•establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others;
•analyze and resolve information system problems;
•use and apply standard principles, theories, and concepts of computer programming and design;
•provide outstanding customer service.

COMMENTS: Some travel, including overnight stays, is required.
